MANCHESTER UNITED’S Marcus Rashford is ready to increase his salary by a massive 10 times by signing a new contract at Old Trafford.
The 18-year-old has burst onto the scene for the Red Devils this season after scoring twice on his debut against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League back in February.
Transfer Market Web say: “Rashford is now set to accept United’s bumper offer of around £13,800-a-week after negotiations were initially stalled.
“It’s a huge improvement on his current deal which works out at £72,000 a year.
“The club are desperate to tie down the massively promising teenager to fend off interest from the likes of Manchester City and Fiorentina.”
Rashford, meanwhile, has statistically made a better start to life at United than club legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
He has scored seven goals in 12 games during his first season at the Theatre of Dreams, while the now-Real Madrid superstar managed just six in 40.
However, United boss Louis van Gaal quite rightly played down the ridiculous comparisons at such an early stage of Rashford’s career, saying they are completely different styles of player.
The Dutchman said: “You can compare apples with pears, so I don’t agree with what you want to suggest. We have to wait and see.
“It is fantastic what Marcus has done so far, but you cannot compare him with Ronaldo, who also played in a different position. He was not a striker when he was at Manchester United, I believe.”
Is Rashford the real deal or is it still too early to judge?
