According to reports by the Telegraph, Chelsea and Manchester United have entered into the race to sign Paris Saint Germain’s Marquinhos.
The central defender who can also play at right back has been an integral figure at the Parc de Princes making 24 appearances in their triumph in the Ligue 1 this season.
His asking price is said to be at £40 million but the reports suggests PSG could be ready for a swap deal.
Should Man United let go off Memphis Depay plus cash and Chelsea release Oscar and an amount, the French Champions could be persuaded to do business as they remain interested in the mentioned players despite their disappointing seasons.
However, if Chelsea and Man United are not ready to part away with their men, they should be ready to pay the £40 million price tag on the 21-year old’s head.
Marquinhos was bought by PSG for £25 million, a free that made him the most expensive teenager in world football.
