Raphael Varane has insisted that he is content at Real Madrid for the immediate future despite rumours he may be looking to depart.
In an interview with ‘L’Equipe’, he said:
“In football, it is useless making long-term plans.
I am happy at Madrid and I try to improve each day.”
These comments aren’t altogether convincing but hardly the comments from someone unhappy at the Bernabeu.
The French international rose to fame after a very impressive 2011 season with French Club Lens and was promptly sold for €10 million.
Under Jose Mourinho he was a first-team starter but has struggled maintain his spot under Zinedine Zidane.
He’s only 22 years of age and our money would say that Varane is likely to be at Madrid next season as he looks forward to an impressive Euro campaign for Les Bleus over the Summer.
Do Real Madrid fans agree?
