Chelsea transfer gossip wrap – Higuain, Costa

Manchester United are prepared to battle off Diego Costa’s former club Atletico Madrid for the Spaniard’s signature according to Spanish transfer news site Fichajes.

Despite some poor form this season in Chelsea’s title defence, Atletico’s manager Diego Simeone is confident he can bounce back in a return to Atletico, however Jose Mourinho who has supposedly signed a pre-contract agreement as incumbent manager at Manchester United is willing to pay €60 million for his former striker.

TransferMarketWeb are circulating that Chelsea are possible suitors for the signing of Gonzalo Higuain if he is to be sold by Napoli in order for the Italian club to pick up Romelu Lukaku.

Higuain has been the top-scorer in the Serie A this season by a long way however Napoli are keen to make Lukaku their main frontman.

Chelsea are thought to be keen on the Argentinian who has also attracted interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
