Busy period

Newcastle have been comfortably the busiest Premier League team in terms of winter transfers and they look as if they are going to have another hectic schedule tomorrow.

Because latest reports give a differing status on three supposed targets.

Saido Berahino

After all the speculation the bid has apparently gone in for West Brom striker Saido Brahino but this one isn’t straightforward with other teams seriously interested. Sky Sports reported on Sunday evening.

Saido Berahino scrap hots up as Newcastle and Stoke make £21m bids for West Brom striker

Newcastle are said to have offered the whole amount up front and Stoke then came in with a similar bid.

With Tottenham also regularly linked to the player the Newcastle fans will be biting their fingernails on this one.

Simply put, we think that he would a fantastic signing for the club.

Seydou Doumbia

In other news in a frantic weekend at the club Newcastle are only a planned medical away from signing a Serie A forward according to Sky Sports:

Roma striker Seydou Doumbia is set to undergo a medical at Newcastle ahead of a loan deal for the rest of the season.

….and The Newcastle Chronicle reports:

Newcastle United transfers: Seydou Doumbia is on Tyneside to finalise loan move

The Ivory coast international of 33 caps and 5 goals, only moved to Roma in January 2015 after 4 prolific years at CSKA Moscow. But this one could be an excellent short-term signing and would certainly inject some more dynamism into the Newcastle team.

Guilherme Siqueira

We would love to see Newcastle sign Siquiera because he is a real technician. But Sky also reports:

…a move for Atletico Madrid left-back Guilherme Siqueira has broken down.

Apparently the player was due for a medical on Tyneside but got a last minute offer from Spanish side Valencia and chose to stay in Spain.

We shall keep you updated on movements and it looks, at this point, as if Doumbia will be the most likely addition to the Newcastle squad.

Let’s see some of his best moments.

Newcastle fans: will he go into the starting eleven or does he look like a squad player right now?
