Liverpool delegates will continue in their attempts to thrash out a deal for the inordinate talents of Alex Teixeira after submitting a bid of 32m Euros for the player, according to The Guardian.
They write:
Liverpool will hold further talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over the signing of Alex Teixeira after submitting an initial €32m (£24.6m) bid for the Brazilian forward.
The report states that Ian Ayre, Liverpool’s chief executive, met Shaktar representatives in Orlando this week but returned to Liverpool on Thursday with no deal in the bag.
However, it is also understood that Shaktar ore open to continuing discussions for one of the hottest properties in the game right now.
Even many a non-football fan will know that the Brazilian has scored 26 goals in 25 games for Shaktar this season and hit 3 in 7 for the Brazil U20s.
His full international career is yet to bloom but it surely won’t be long before he is turning out for Brazil on a regular basis if he does move into the spotlight of The Premier League at Liverpool.
We feel that this is a deal which has a very good chance of being concluded now that Liverpool have reportedly shown their hand – although the clubs do still appear to be some way apart in their valuations of the player at this point.
Let’s see the excellent forward in action.
