Wow

He hasn’t even officially decided where he is going to be coaching next season but The Sun has remarkably got the scoop on the four players that Pep Guardiola wants when he joins Manchester City!

They say:

As well as Messi, he has identified Juventus powerhouse Paul Pogba as integral to improving the team.

Bayern left-back David Alaba, 23, will also be targeted for a summer move

Barca centre-back and former Manchester United star Gerard Pique, 28, is another on the wanted list

Pogba: Absolute titan

Pogba: Absolute titan

Lionel Messi

It would be fascinating to see Messi in The Premier League. While he has been one of La Liga’s best players ever he hasn’t played as well for his country and the true test of his genius would come in England where he would be shackled by some of the biggest and ugliest defensive brutes in the game.

But his presence at Manchester City would take them and the BPL to another level. For our money he is, quite simply, the best player ever.

Paul Pogba

Would be reviled by Manchester United fans if he joined The Noisy Neighbours, having spent part of his youth at Old Trafford.

But he is one of the most prominent midfielders in the world and it’s frightening to think what he can achieve as he is still only 22. A perfect successor to the peerless but tiring Yaya Toure.

Gerard Pique

Another ex-Manchester United man who we feel may have more of a problem joining City. Pique, who turns 29 in February, enjoyed his time at Old Trafford and is fiercely loyal to Barcelona.

David Alaba

Very much a Manchester City-style full-back. He’s a big strong athlete of 23 years who also has pace and likes to get forward. Can also do a job in midfield.

Let’s see him in action.
