There has been hot debate about the goalkeeper situation at Everton over the last year.
Tim Howard has of course been a fantastic servant to the club but his form has arguably dropped off and we would want to remember him as the powerful and agile keeper he was in his pomp rather than an error strewn veteran who can’t accept that he is past it.
To that end, reports have surfaced about Everton’s interest in another celebrated keeper.
Respected Italian media outlet, Gazette dello Sport, reports (via Sky):
Bournemouth and Everton are keeping tabs on AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez.
The ex-Madrid man has a contract at The San Siro until 2018, so says the report, but he’s recently fallen down the pecking order at Milan due to the fine form of the teenager Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The 36 year old Howard has played 389 times for Everton (1 goal!) since his move from Manchester United in 2006.
Lopez has 1 cap for Spain and has played for Sevilla, Real Madrid, Villarreal and Milan.
Let’s see him in action.
