Newcastle will surely attempt several signings in the winter window in order to steady the ship. And rumours have have been flying around about the possible acquisition of a left-back in January.
To that end, The Newcastle Chronicle states that one target may be off limits until the summer:
Newcastle have checked out PSV Eindhoven left-back Jetro Willems but won’t make January move for the player
Apparently the Dutch full back, who plays for PSV – the same club as Georgina Wijnaldum came from – has been scouted on more than one occasion by chief head hunter Graham Carr but Newcastle apparently plan to hold off any bid until the summer, according to a source which has an inside track on events at the club.
Perhaps Newcastle have an open line of communication with PSV and want to maintain a positive relationship while continuing to snare players from the club.
Still only 21, Willems has been well-known to Dutch fans for some time and made his debut for Holland all the way back in 2012. He currently has 15 caps for his country.
Lets take a look at him in action. Newcastle fans: do you need to add a left back in January?
