Newcastle have shown improved form over the last few weeks and may just get out of the relegation quagmire over the next month or so on this form.
Either way, they should definitely be busy in the transfer window in order to reinforce their squad which has been typically ravaged by injuries this season.
Latest reports suggest that Loic Remy, who had such a prolific spell at the club a couple of years ago, could be ready to return from Chelsea.
The Chronicle says:
Newcastle United offered chance to re-sign French international Loic Remy on loan
Remy scored 14 goals in 27 games for Newcastle over the course of the 2013/14 season, when he was last at the club. He offers the sort of pace and ruthlessness in front of goal that has been missing for Newcastle this season.
And when you look at Newcastle’s midfield you would imagine that they could provide really good service into a top striker.
Remi hasn’t played much at Chelsea and has only managed 13 games and 3 goals in an injury hindered season. And there’s been a lot of speculation that The Blues will bring in another striker in January which would suggest that they aren’t that keen on the Frenchman.
Let’s remind ourselves of the quality of Remy. We think that if Newcastle get the chance to sign him they should welcome him back with open arms.
