With Chelsea’s front line being so inconsistent this season few would be surprised if new boss Guus Hiddink splurged on a new striker in January.
Several familiar faces have been mentioned in relation to such a signing but one from further afield is taking the eye of the club, according to weekend reports.
The Daily Express says:
Chelsea are lining up a bid for Lokomotiv Moscow striker Oumar Niasse, according to reports in Italy.
Known for his pace and power this is the sort of signing that could addd the element of surprise to a sometimes pedestrian front line in the central areas at Chelsea.
Niasse signed for Locomotiv Moscow in 2014 and has been a revelation there scoring 32 goals in his first 80 games for the club.
He’s scored goals at every club he has been at and his recent form has been rewarded at international level for Senegal for whom he made his debut in 2014 (4 caps).
Let’s take a look at him in action. Chelsea fans, is this the sort of player that you need to add to the front line or would you rather go for someone with Premier League experience?
