Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is usually exceedingly reticent where it comes to talk of transfers.
But, with the bit between his teeth and the title charge well and truly on, Wenger has opened up to give Arsenal fans a tasty sound bite about the direction of their transfer window.
Speaking to Talksport, Wenger said that he fully expects to make a signing within the next ten days:
‘I don’t give much away (about transfers) because I don’t know (whats going on).’
‘I want to talk about them and hopefully we are capable of doing something in the next ten days’
Arsenal have been strongly linked with midfield reinforcements as players like Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin continue to be sidelined.
But Wenger gave a positive update on those guys too:
‘Francis Coquelin is starting to run, Santi Cazorla will be back in mid-February and Mikel Arteta is back now.’
The feeling is that a couple of good quality additions will give Arsenal that final push to bring the Championship to the club for the first time in over a decade. And the fact that Arsenal are trying to get their business done early would suggest that they are really going for it this year.
Let’s see some more highlights of Elneny in action.
