Manchester United: Cheeky move for The Special One?

Impossible season

So hands up. Who would take Jose Mourinho over Louis van Gaal right now?

We would say that the majority of Manchester United fans would install Mourinho at the helm if they had the power.

Chelsea have reportedly called an emergency board meeting for Wednesday to discuss the future of the Portuguese after he oversaw the club’s ninth defeat in just 16 games against table topping Leicester on Monday.

And, if he was sacked, you can assume that he would jump at the chance of joining Manchester United.

Jose-Mourinho

It would of course represent pretty shoddy treatment of Louis van Gaal if he was abruptly dismissed in favour of Jose. Furthermore, Jose’s brand of football may only be nominally more exciting than that of Louis van Gaal – the master of the sideways pass.

But Louis just isn’t inspiring his squad right now we wonder whether he has reached the point of no return at Manchester United.

Jose should have been given the job straight after Sir Alex and then United most probably wouldn’t be in this mess right now. Why miss the boat for a second time?

And how Mourinho would relish the opportunity to get one over on his Chelsea counterparts by taking Manchester United back to pre-eminence.

We always felt that Mourinho would one day manage Manchester United. Regardless of his current Chelsea nightmare he remains one of the top three bosses in world football. He is a results machine and a great motivator. Given the sort of budget that LvG has had it’s safe to assume that The Special One would bring in those two or three top additions that can make United tick again.

It’s a distant prospect right now but many Manchester United fans would love to see Mourinho in the Old Trafford dug out next weekend.
