For the neutral this has been a superb season so far. But Chelsea’s inexplicable loss of form has left their own faithful desperate.
Chelsea can’t have any serious designs on the league now and even a fourth placed finish looks remote.
But, at the start of the season, you would have had them as serious contenders for The Champions League and they are in a great position going into match day 6.
A home win will guarantee top spot and Europe could yet provide Chelsea with their season saviour.
Although it has become almost impossible to predict Chelsea’s results from one week to the next we are fairly confident that they can expect a return to the typical 2-0 Stamford Bridge scoreline of old against a Porto team which remains technically excellent but also a little lightweight for these big European away ties.
But we certainly won’t be putting any money on Chelsea right now.
