Arsene Wenger could never be called the most hot-headed man in the transfer market. Indeed he is a model of prudence and, some might say, indecision.
Even broken records don’t go one as much as we do about Arsenal’s oversights in the market.
With money in the bank we strongly believe that a new centre back, anchor man and top striker would put Arsenal on top of the pile – particularly this season when most of the elite teams are wobbling.
The title is there for the taking with Leicester top after 13 games and Arsenal fans will be encouraged by Arsene Wenger’s sentiments when asked if he will invest in January:
“We are in a position where we want to do something,” Wenger said at his weekly press conference. “If I find the right quality I will do something.”
How about these three Arsene?
William Carvalho
He has some detractors amongst you Arsenal fans. But he’s been regularly linked to Arsenal and is the closest thing that we have seen to Patrick Vieira since the French legend retired. Even more so than Paul Pogba, Carvalho dominates gamed with his physical presence and also has passing ability that few could better.
He’s a wonderful two touch player and he would make such a difference to this Arsenal side.
Aymeric Laporte
Arsenal still lack a beast at the back and, although we like Gabriel, we think that Arsenal need a more physical presence next to Koscielny.
Laporte is a wonderful technician but does the bread and butter defending first and foremost. The Frenchman could have a magnificent career at The Emirates. He’s already been linked.
Alexandre Lacazette
He may not be quite as good as Anthony Martial but he’s a gettable striker who could add pace and precision to an attack which sometimes lacks gumption in the biggest games. He has also been linked.
