Fresh from another unconvincing win for Manchester United at the weekend, this time against Watford, the rumour mills are in full swing this Monday morning, ahead of the impending winter window.
There seems to be a growing throng of rumour which suggests that Manchester United will attempt to land Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo over the next couple of windows.
Today the focus switches to Bale who, The Sun says, remains a serious target for Manchester United. And, considering his performance in El Clasico, it’s easy to see why the story has resurfaced.
Bale has emerged as United’s best bet of capturing a La Liga superstar after they tried and failed to land Barca’s Neymar last summer.
We watched a great debate on BT Sport on Sunday where the commentator asked who each pundit would pefer, given the choice. Paul Scholes, Glenn Hoddle and Graham Taylor went for CR7 whilst Michael Owen said that Bale was the better investment due to him being 4 years younger.
From the point of view of Manchester United fans, either would surely do. But perhaps Manchester United are looking to sign both? They certainly seem to have nearly as much money as sense these days and how United’s wing play would improve with these two marauding down the flanks.
We believe that Bale will come back to England next summer and it’s simply a question of who is prepared/able to stump up the cash.
Let’s see the Wales talisman in action.
