Speed is becoming ever more important in the modern game – particularly in The Premier League – and while Chelsea have a decent compliment of it, they are apparently looking for more in the winter window.
The Sun reports on Sunday:
CHELSEA want Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Jose Mourinho chases TWO new strikers.
Stamford Bridge spies are raving about the Gabon hitman — and the fallen champions will weigh up a £20million bid.
At 26 this is a fully formed game changer.
This is a player who has steadily improved over the last few years and added finesse to his already impressive natural skill set.
Aubameyang has hit 19 goals in 45 internationals for an arguably average Gabon side – and he has regularly started on the wing which makes the figures even more impressive.
And since he moved from St. Etienne in France in 2103 he has been a revelation in Germany with Dortmund, scoring 64 in 115 games for a side that has been going through something of a transitional phase.
Some observers doubt his technique but we don’t. He can make a huge difference for Chelsea and also works so hard that he would fit well into the Mourinho template.
Let’s take a look at him in action.
Chelsea fans: is this the sort of adaptable player that you need or should you be looking for more of a conventional number 9 as cover for Diego Costa?
