As we expected, Chelsea’s poor start to the season means that transfer rumours about the club are now flying around with all the chaos of a trapped wasp.
Of course Chelsea won’t sign all of the players that they are linked with but this particular rumour appears interesting.
The midfield has looked stale at times this season with Cesc off the pace and Nemanja Matic a pale imitation of last season.
And the tabloids reckon that a deal could now be in place to secure another midfield dynamo.
The ever keen Metro reports:
Chelsea are reportedly in pole position to sign Bologna midfielder Amadou Diawara after the player’s representative reached an agreement with an agent close to Roman Abramovich.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the player he’s an 18 year old midfielder who was born in Guinea and now plays for Bologna in Italy’s Serie A.
He’s gatecrashed the first team well ahead of schedule and already has 11 appearances for the Italian outfit this season.
While he may not be given the reins in Chelsea’s midfield straight away, we have seen with the likes of Ruben Loftus-Creek and Kenedy this season that if you are deemed good enough you are old enough.
More likely though, this will be more of a long term investment for the ailing champions.
Let’s see the young star in action.
Chelsea fans: a decent investment?
