After a season of underachievement so far, Chelsea will be linked to almost anything with a pulse this January.
Seriously though, they will surely look to strengthen and freshen up their squad if the opportunity arises and money won’t be a hugely limiting factor.
Their strikers have been under par and Chelsea have been linked to the signing of a player who would surely increase their goals output.
French media outlet ‘Le 10 Sport’ reports that Chelsea are monitoring Cavani ahead of a possible move.
While the reports also state that Manchester United and Juventus retain an interest also, Chelsea’s desperate need for 3 points in almost every game between now and the end of the season could see them push the boat out.
We believe that Cavani is tailor made for The Premier League. He’s a tough lad with great athleticism and a Uruguayan who won’t shrivel at the first tough challenge.
The 28 year old has scored 28 goals for Uruguay in 72 internationals. And, at club level, his goalscoring exploits have been sensational.
He’s scored 265 club goals including 65 in 111 for PSG and 104 in 138 for Napoli.
Manchester United have long been linked and could arguably also use his talent in front of goal. So Chelsea will need to be decisive if they want him.
But, with PSG looking like a strong contender for The Champions League this season, The Blues may have to wait until the summer for this one to be realised.
Let’s see Cavani’s magic.
