Honestly, we think that this one is as good as done.
Real Madrid are likely to sign a new centre forward next summer with Karim Benzema’s stint as the main man perhaps coming to an end after 7 excellent seasons. Indeed Marca seems certain that changes will be made:
Real Madrid will be signing a number nine at the end of the season, and it has not in fact been ruled out that it might be a double signing – two new centre-forwards.
And when you look around Europe right now there is one striker who is head and shoulders above the rest. That’s Robert Lewandowski of course.
And his agent Cezar Cucharsky says that Real Madrid are indeed keen:
“You cannot deny that there is interest from Real Madrid”,
The agent admits that there has been no fresh contact in the last few months but that the player is still learning Spanish.
There aren’t too many steps up that the striker could take if he leaves the German giants Bayern Munchen.
But Real Madrid is arguably a step forward in his career and we believe that it’s just a matter of time before the deal materialises.
But we also think that it’s not a given that the player would adapt to La Liga. We feel that he may be more suited to the style of play in The Premier League.
We feel that there is a chance that Lewa could suffer the same fate as Zlatan did at Barcelona, where he had a decent spell but was eventually overlooked.
But it is surely a gamble worth taking for Real Madrid.
Let’s see him in action.
