We regularly say that there is seldom smoke without fire in the transfer market. And, not for the first time, two players have been linked to Manchester United in the latest news cycle:
Zlatan
Some may think that his name appears in the rumour mills every time there is a quiet news cycle.
But The BBC passes on reports from Spain that he could move to Manchester United in the winter.
While he obviously wouldn’t be a long-term acquisition he would certainly be welcome at Old Trafford. Even at 34 he is a wonderful physical specimen and a player who can still change games.
We think it would be fascinating to see him at the club.
Ayoze Perez
Another name who keeps appearing in the same paragraph as Manchester United. The Chronicle says:
Perez feels more settled but Spurs like the look of him and they’re not alone. Manchester United have compiled a dossier on him and Liverpool, pre-Jurgen Klopp, took a long, hard look at him too.
Perez had a super start to his career in England but went off the boil towards the end of last season.
But he’s come back strong in this campaign and scored 3 goals in 8 league games for a struggling Newcastle side.
He certainly has the sort of pace that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal seems to be looking for.
But whether he has the finesse to become a top player remains to be seen.
Let’s take look at Perez in action.
Manchester United fans: would either walk into the first team?
