Quite what Arsenal would want with yet another young playmaker is beyond us.
But, if you believe what you read in the rags, then Arsenal are still interested in signing Real Madrid creator Jese.
But they aren’t alone, as Talksport reveals:
Napoli have stepped up their pursuit of Arsenal and Liverpool target Jese.
Both Premier League clubs have been monitoring the forward’s situation at Real Madrid, where he remains on the periphery of the first team.
The 22 year old forward has only started 4 times for La Liga giants this term and, even more so than fellow Real Madrid playmaker Isco, he must be considering his long-term future.
He’s an excellent player who can operate across the front line or in the hole.
He’s also scored goals all the way through the youth ranks with Spain and hit 14 in 64 from wide areas for Real Madrid.
Arsenal have injury problems of course and few fans would sniff at this signing.
But we can’t help thinking that with Walcott, Ox, Sanchez and Campbell in the squad, The Gunners are already well-equipped in that area.
Indeed, in response to questions about missing the boat on Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, Arsene Wenger recently said:
“But he’s more of a winger-type,”
“He’s an exceptional talent I agree with you but I believe that he plays in positions where we have players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alexis Sanchez and Joel Campbell who can play in the position.”
Let’s see Jese in action. Arsenal fans: a necessary addition?
