In his weekly press conference, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal gave a positive update on the injury situation ahead of the crunch game with West Bromwich Albion – the last before the international break – at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon (kick off 15:00 local time).
He said that, while there are no fresh injury concerns, Morgan Schneiderlin has been fighting the effects of a sickness all week.
He did though train this week and has a fighting chance of playing for Manchester United vs WBA.
But with Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger both fit and firing, perhaps the Frenchman will start on the bench on Saturday.
Apart from Schneiderlin, Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw remains sidelined.
And Matteo Darmian will also miss the game throughout suspension after picking up 5 yellow cards in the league for Manchester United this season.
This could well mean another start for Ashley Young at right back.
We shall keep you updated on other news from the press conference as it comes in.
