We get the feeling that this one could drag on for some time yet.
Because, after Neymar’s father confirmed Manchester United’s summer interest in signing the Barcelona superstar, the rumours about a move have persisted.
Now The Metro reports that the player has decided that he wants a move clubs in order to fulfil his Ballon D’Or aspirations.
Manchester United transfer target Neymar is looking for a new club in order to fulfil his aspirations of winning the Ballon d’Or, according to reports.
For our money Neymar isn’t on the same level as Ronaldo and Messi – he may never be. But there are very few players ever to play the game who can say that they were truly that good.
What Neymar does have is great ball control, wonderful pace and a sense of invention that gets him goals – lots of them.
In fact Neymar has been prolific over the last few years. He already has 46 goals for Brazil in just 67 games.
Add 62 in 101 for Barcelona and you can see that, whatever the proposed fee, Neymar could be worth it for Manchester United.
Manchester United are unlikely to do such a big deal in January, but expect the rumour mills to go into overdrive with this one again next summer.
Let’s see the brilliant 23 year old in action.
