Massive boost for Manchester City ahead of derby – report

Special

Manchester City should rightly go into this one with confidence.

The summer investment has given them awesome strength in depth and, even with the current injury list, they have great quality for every position in the eleven.

But you simply can’t put a price on David Silva and if he were to return from injury in time to start the Manchester derby on Sunday then Manchester City’s odds would surely shorten again.

The Sun reckons that the brilliant Spaniard is being lined up for a shock return after taking a bad knock on international duty.

DAVID SILVA is poised for a dramatic return to Manchester City’s starting line-up tomorrow.

Quite simply, the 29 year old makes Manchester City tick.

And he always seems to play brilliantly against Manchester United, depriving them of possession and finding the pockets of space in between the opposition midfield and defence to wreak absolute havoc.

His presence would provide Manchester City with a huge psychological boost ahead of the game and have the Manchester United defence stepping back a few yards before a ball has even been kicked.

We can’t overstate the importance of this lad to Manchester City and he could be the determining factor in the outcome of the game.

After two weeks out we might expect him to begin this game on the bench.

But City fans will surely hope he starts.
