It’s fanciful stuff but it always merits a mention when a player of the calibre of Lionel Messi is linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United. The Sun says:
CHELSEA, Manchester United and Manchester City are ALL attempting to persuade Lionel Messi to swap Barcelona for the Prem.
While such a move would have been impossible 5 years ago the money in The Premier League these days means that pretty much any deal is possible, in terms of the finances available.
The big question then would be whether the player would want to join Chelsea or Manchester United.
Messi seems tailor-made for Barcelona and it’s difficult to imagine him playing for any other club.
But if he is hounded out of the country for tax reasons, as the report suggests, he would surely end up in Paris, London or Manchester.
And what a team Chelsea would have with him in it. Or Manchester United for that matter. We have seen how much worse off Barcelona are when Messi doesn’t play so it’s easy to imagine the sort of impact he would have in The Premier League.
With Costa up top, Messi would either play in the hole at Chelsea or down the wing where he could flummox defenders and exploit the vast spaces on offer behind the high defensive lines of The Premier League.
It’s a long way off happening. But stranger things have come to pass and it’s been a while since Roman Abramovich made an eye-popping bid for a player.
Chelsea fans: Any chance?

Don’t be stupid How on Earth Mourinho can be able to handle ?
Just see the problems he has with Hazard, the short circuit with Mata, De Bruine, the destruction of Oscar for believing Mourinho’s teachings.
Messi will never come to Chelsea until Mourinho leaves
