After such a glittering career, the points machine otherwise known as Jose Mourinho, has been having something of a crisis of late.
Chelsea have been all over the shop and have probably given themselves too much too do to win the league, even after just 9 games of the season.
But Chelsea still have as good a chance as anyone of progressing to the latter stages of The Champions League.
One win and one defeat leaves them in control of their destiny and three points in this tricky away tie will leave them feeling far better.
But, pardon the cliches if you will, this is not an easy place to go.
Hostile crowds, a cauldron of a stadium and a team which is winning more often than not makes for a tough task for Chelsea.
If they can play to their potential they should be able to pick Kiev off on the break.
But more Chelsea sloppiness could leave their European hopes hanging by a thread tonight.
