After a celebrated career and a trophy cabinet to match, Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes has had something of a shocker since he joined the Old Trafford outfit a year ago.
He initially joined in October 2014 to train with Louis van Gaal’s men and signed an 18 month deal in January.
But he soon fell out with the volatile Manchester United boss and there appears no way back for him at his current club.
But The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea are among the interested parties as the keeper looks for another club in January.
Victor Valdes to leave Manchester United in January but agent rules out Spain return as Chelsea and Newcastle monitor keeper
and his agent confirmed:
‘He won’t be coming to Spain, unless he decides otherwise.
‘It is obvious he must leave in January, and we are looking to find a move that he likes.’
The Spaniard apparently had the chance to join Valencia in the summer but rejected that opportunity.
He could turn out to be a top addition for Chelsea. With Thibaut Courtois out long-term and Asmir Begovic still finding his feet at the club, Chelsea’s options are thin on the ground.
Valdes was a little rusty at Manchester United but he has returned to full fitness after a serious knee injury and is raring to go.
Let’s have a look at the veteran in action.
