He seems to be a player who is terminally linked with a move from Real Madrid even after 6 top years at the club.
But the name of Karim Benzema has once more come up in the transfer rumour columns this week and perhaps with more reason this time.
The Real Madrid man has been quoted as venting spleen at new head coach Rafa Benitez and said:
‘It’s true I’m fed up of being taken off,’ Benzema told AS. ‘It’s true that the electronic board always shows the No 9. Ask Benitez why that is.
Benzema has been linked to a big money move to Arsenal for years.
After the tonking of Manchester United at the weekend, you might imagine that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is happy with his lot. But that result has proved to be the exception to the rule over the last 5 years, as The Gunners too often come up short against the big boys.
And the addition of a really world class number 9 would add great balance to the squad. Theo Walcott could yet become a top centre forward but Arsenal need another at any rate.
And, surely, Arsene Wenger would jump at the chance to sign the 27 year old Frenchman if Benzema decided that he wanted out of Real Madrid.
The number 9 has been at Real Madrid for 6 whole seasons and scored 140 goals in 289 games for the Spanish giants.
He also has 77 caps and a decent return of 25 international goals for France.
Let’s see his best moments.
