Say what you like about John Terry.
But our feeling is that he could play for Chelsea for another couple of years at least.
His game is not about pace and even if he loses more of it then he can still have a major role.
Because the Chelsea captain is one of the best readers of the game in world football.
Put pace around him and he can lead the defence out of the realms of their recent embarrassment and help Chelsea climb back up the table.
Perhaps a few games on the bench will have refocused him. The Telegraph writes that he should start against Southampton today.
Captain is in line for recall when Saints visit Stamford Bridge while out-of-form Branislav Ivanovic will keep his place
In troubled times like these Chelsea need a leader more than ever.
And they have one of the best sitting on the bench so it’s surely just a matter of time before Terry returns to the fray.
We would swap him for Gary Cahill and use Zouma’s pace and power in tandem with Terry, who can call the shots for Chelsea.
If he does start, we would be much more confident of the 3 points against a very good Southampton side.
Chelsea fans: Is it a no-brainer for Terry to start?

John Terry should be recalled back into the team. He is the natural leader the team needs at this time.
