This one could be interesting for Manchester United.
While the buck ultimately stops with the manager, even the best ones gauge the feelings of the fans when making big decisions.
And it appears that, despite his best efforts, Gareth Bale just isn’t endearing himself to the Madridistas.
In a latest poll with Spanish media outlet Marca, the fans have overwhelmingly voted to replace the Welshman, who has been regularly linked with Manchester United, with the brilliant Spaniard Isco.
The results of the ‘Real Madrid Fans Starting XI’ survey carried out by MARCA on its readers show that the club’s supporters would choose Isco over Bale.
Manchester United fans would dearly love to add Gareth Bale to a side which is desperate for a more pacy right wing option to Juan Mata.
And his style may simply not be suited to La Liga – although his stats at the club remains pretty healthy with 39 goals in 92 games for Madrid since his move from Tottenham two summers ago.
At 26 he’s in a make or break period at Real Madrid.
Another season without consistently hitting the high notes and he will surely be moving back to The Premier League next season.
But there is still a slight hope, amongst Manchester United fans, that something can be done in this window.
But we wouldn’t hold our breath on this one.
Manchester United fans: would Bale be the best possible addition this summer?
