This one is very interesting and perhaps Manchester United’s failed pursuit of Pedro will all become clear in the coming week.
Because while many are blaming Ed Woodward for another bungled transfer, perhaps Manchester United had other more serious targets all along.

Mane: Potential Game Changer
We have always maintained that Mane has much more to offer than Pedro. He’s so fast and also has the sort of invention which Manchester United needs and Pedro lacks.
The Spaniard is a goal scorer but not as creative or skilled as Mane and, if Manchester United can pull this one off then the fans will see almost immediately what a good decision it has been.
At 23 he’s got at least 8 more years in the tank and still has much room for improvement.
He may not be the entire solution – Manchester United will probably look again even if they do capture Mane – but it would be a wonderful addition to the squad.
