Sadio Mane is being linked with a move away from Liverpool

Losing either Philippe Coutinho or Sadio Mane would present a huge problem for Liverpool, but both attackers leaving in the same summer would be unthinkable.

Even if Jurgen Klopp is rightly pilloried for the Reds’ difficulties at the back, he has constructed a world-class front line.

Coutinho was targeted by Barcelona this summer and to Liverpool’s credit, they managed to hold onto the Brazilian. That was despite the playmaker handing in a transfer request.

Rumours that Barca will return for Coutinho at the end of the season persist. However, if fans have come to terms with the 25-year-old’s potential departure, then they certainly won’t be ready for reports linking Mane with an early exit from Anfield.

This story is coming out of Diario Madridista, who have it that Real Madrid are interested in the Senegal international.

Zinedine Zidane is impressed by his pace and goalscoring exploits – with Mane having scored three goals in four games so far this season – and views him as a long-term asset, as he is still just 25.

While he’s currently suspended for his high boot on Ederson in the 5-0 defeat to Manchester City, it’s expected that he’ll enjoy another fine season on Merseyside and draw more attention from Europe’s top clubs.
