Every top manager has to take the rough with the smooth in such a cut and thrust job.
And virtually every coach in the world would love to have the record of The Special One.
But even he has moments to forget.
And the spat with his medical staff has compounded a poor start to the season.
Most would have expected a home win followed by a draw at Manchester City for Chelsea at this early stage of the season.
But instead Chelsea have one point from two games as questions continue to be asked about the state of the defence.
But things don’t appear to be getting any better just yet for the Chelsea boss as news today filters though that Everton have rejected Chelsea’s third bid of £30m for their brilliant young defender John Stones.
Sky Sports reports today:
Everton have rejected a third bid of £30m from Chelsea for England defender John Stones, according to Sky sources.
Despite his tender age of just 21, Chelsea clearly see Stones – who has been capped four times by England – as the perfect addition to their squad.
As long as Stones himself doesn’t put in a transfer request then the ball remains firmly in Everton’s court.
They don’t need to sell and only a gargantuan figure would change their minds.
The question is just how far Chelsea are willing to go in their pursuit of one of England’s first young talents.
Chelsea fans: is he worth the money?
