It would be safe to assume that Real Madrid star Isco would jog straight into virtually every team in the world.
But, the fact that the forward positions are currently occupied by Bale, Benzema, Rodriguez and Ronaldo means that Isco can count himself a very unlucky bench warmer at Real Madrid.
For our money he’s the Spanish Jack Wilshere. He has a similar skill set as a dynamic and creative midfielder who loves to run with the ball and slalom around defences.
He’s a wonderful footballer who Manchester City are said to be keen on, according to latest reports.
Spanish Media Outlet Mundo Deportivo (via Sky) reports:
Manchester City are waiting for Real Madrid playmaker Isco to give them nod before they try to bring him to the Etihad once again, according to Mundo Deportivo.
At 23 Isco has already played 10 times for Spain and scored 1 goal.
But it’s club football that he needs now if his career isn’t to stagnate.
The problem is that, whenever any of the front line are injured, Isco becomes a vital component for Real Madrid.
So they are unlikely to let him go without a fight, particularly as he is a homegrown talent.
It’s unclear whether Isco would be seen as an alternative to Kevin de Bruyne or as a successor to Yaya Toure at Manchester City – he can play on the flank or through the middle to great effect.
But his exact role in the team matters not.
It’s his overall quality and class which Manchester City are keen on.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action.
