Sometimes the success of a footballer isn’t down to his individual talent but more his suitability to the team in which he is plying his trade.

We feel that arguable failure of Edin Dzeko to make a name for himself in The Premier League could be down to a clash with the system at Manchester City.

And having Sergio Aguero ahead of you in the pecking order doesn’t help!

But latest reports suggest that a fee has been agreed between Manchester City and Roma for what amounts to a good bit of business for the Italian club.

Sky Sports reports this afternoon:

Sky sources: Roma have agreed a £14million fee with Manchester City for striker Edin Dzeko.

Dzeko certainly hasn’t embarrassed himself at Manchester City – indeed, at times, he has threatened to explode as the 4 goals against Tottenham suggested.

Dzeko has scored at a decent rate for City with 71 in 185 games.

He’s also got 42 in 72 for his country.

So he shouldn’t have any problems finding the net in Italy.

But with such speedy interplay going on in the attacking unit at Manchester City, perhaps Edin was a bit too old fashioned in his style of play.

But he will surely do well at his next club and now it is time for the likes of Wilfried Bony to step up and show what he is worth for City.
