Top Class Signing

Ok, this is a bit of a stretch considering the sources.

But we say that, The Telegraph says that The Express reckons that Arsenal are keen on Robert Lewandowski.

The Metro is on it too.

The suggestion is that Arsenal will make a £35m bid for the powerhouse striker with the lovely feet.

He would of course be a brilliant addition to Arsenal, who could use a player that could make a difference in the biggest games.

But will he come?

His agent said recently that, while Lewandowski was happy at Bayern,

there are only two directions in which he could go in the future, England or Spain

And Bayern Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently stated his concern about the power of English clubs by saying:

“Looking at the transfer market you can see how active the English sides are at the moment. The Bundesliga needs to be careful not to be emptied of its talent by selling to England”,

The big question is whether the player himself is tempted.

We saw with Bastian Schweinsteiger to Manchester United that when a player has a specific desire to move clubs, there is ultimately little that the current club can do.

Keeping an unhappy player on a massive wage makes no sense.

The 26 year old only joined Bayern in 2014 and has had a decent season.

He scored 25 goals in 49 games to make his overall club tally 206 goals in 380 games – this is, of course, the ratio of a top player.

At international level he’s banged in a creditable 26 goals in 68 games for an average Poland side.

Overall, he marries wonderful technique with the sort of power which would be ideal for The Premier League.

Let’s see him in action.

Arsenal fans: any chance of this signing?
