Done?

Manchester City are said to be on the verge of doing a deal with Inter for the services of Stevan Jovetic.

The Guardian reports:

Stevan Jovetic is set to be loaned to Internazionale for £2m and the Italian club will be compelled to buy the striker from Manchester City at the end of the season for £10.25m as part of the deal.

Despite his obvious talent we always felt that the player would struggle to get into the first team at Manchester City.

Signed for around £22m on 19 July 2013 the forward was injured early on in his Manchester City career and failed to gain any real momentum after that, with the likes of Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo ahead of him in the pecking order.

In total Jovetic played 39 games over the space of two seasons at Manchester City and scored a creditable 11 goals.

But all parties concerned clearly feel that, at 25, the career the Montenegrin will be best served by a move away from this particular club.

Inter are getting a decent, low risk deal as they get to take a close look at the player for a season before deciding whether to make the deal permanent.

Manchester City would have preferred to do a permanent deal straight away but, such is the quality of the player, that they shouldn’t have too many problmes in offloading him at the end of next season, be it to Inter or another club.

Let’s see him in action at Manchester City.
