Manchester City have gone about their transfer business in a very assertive manner this summer and, while most clubs would be happy to have acquired a player of the quality of Raheem Sterling, City seem to be ploughing straight on to their next target.
The Manchester Evening news reports today that Manchester City may be getting closer to signing their next target as the player himself has admitted that his head has been turned by a possible transfer.
Kevin de Bruyne is quoted as saying:
“I don’t know where I will play next season.”
“I just have to train well and make sure that I am fully fit. We will then see what happens.
“But it is always something special when big clubs show an interest in you. Of course, I am thinking about it.”
Meanwhile his club maintains that they don’t want to sell the winger but that an ‘extraordinary offer’ could change their stance.
The 24 year old has been absolutely on fire since he left Chelsea last January.
He’s not just a great goalscorer for a winger (16 goals last season) but he’s also a supreme provider with a whopping 27 assists in the last campaign.
We can imagine that Manchester City would be an even more devastating attacking unit with him in the side.
And while his signature may cost even more than the £49m that it took to bring Sterling to the club, Manchester City seem intent on securing the services of the young maestro.
