This one is interesting.
We say that Sky Sports says that China’s official press agency Xinhua says that Real Madrid are poised to sign highly rated Chinese youngster Lin Liangming.
China Under-19 midfielder Lin Liangming is on the verge of joining Real Madrid, according to China’s official press agency Xinhua.
The 19 year old will become the first Chinese player ever to join Real Madrid in a move which will surely bring immense pride to the football mad Chinese nation.
The more cynical will imagine that this is could be a tactic to increase Real Madrid’s popularity in China, a nation which loves football and has a population of 1.357 billion increasingly wealthy people.
Whether he will ever make it to the first team remains to be seen but we are highly doubtful, given the competition for places at Real Madrid.
The deal will cost Madrid 300,000 Euros according the the report and the player will join up with the club ahead of the new season.
Real Madrid have been fairly quiet in the transfer market this summer with only thew relatively low profile talents of right wing back Danilo, midfielder Casemiro, forward Lucas Vázquez of Espanyol and goalkeeper Kiko Casilla joining the club so far.
But we do expect a marquee signing before September as Real Madrid look to once more scale the peaks of European and domestic football after coming out second best to fierce rivals Barcelona last season.
