Report: Arsenal in for another talented La Liga star

Prodigious

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger seems particularly relaxed about this transfer window.

The signing of Petr Cech was of course an excellent and much needed one.

And the squad is generally in rude health.

But we would certainly like to see another anchor man and centre forward come in to the club this summer. And, with doubts over the continued ability of Per Mertesacker to perform at the pace required in The Premier League, Gabriel Paulista has a huge weight of expectation on his shoulders this season.

If Wenger isn’t certain that the lad can step up then perhaps he should be looking at another centre back too?

But guess what? Arsenal are being linked with another midfielder this weekend.

Spanish media outlet AS reports (via Sky Sports):

Arsenal are interested in Real Betis starlet Dani Ceballos, reports AS.

The 18 year old Spaniard, who has 2 caps for the Spain U21s, moved from Sevilla to Betis via Utrera and quickly worked his way into the first team after a short stint with the B side.

In fact he had a great season last year with 35 La Liga appearances and 5 goals for the Spanish outfit – not bad at all for an 18 year old.

Quite where he would fit in to an Arsenal squad which is bursting at the seams with creative midfielders will be the subject of some debate.

But he does look like a really special young talent, as the following video goes to show.

Let’s see him in action.

Arsenal fans: despite the obvious talent of the lad, is Arsene barking up the wrong tree?
