With all the selling going on at Tottenham we were beginning to wonder whether Mauricio Pochettino was going to spend much money at all this summer.
But latest reports suggest that Spurs are battling it out with fierce rivals Arsenal for the signature of Gabon International Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Sky Sports reports:
Arsenal and Spurs are in discussions to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, says France Football.
And Talksport:
Arsenal and Tottenham both eyeing Borussia Dortmund hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Despite Dortmund’s reluctance to do a deal, a bidding war may force the price up to a point at which the temptation may be too much to resist.
And we think that this guy would be a really good bet for The Premier League for Tottenham and Arsenal.
He’s essentially a winger, but a modern one who can also play through the centre. He’s got explosive pace off the mark and real composure in front of goal at the age of 26.
He’s hit 42 goals in just 95 games for a Dortmund side which really struggled last season.
While Arsenal can offer Champions League football we think that Tottenham may have the upper hand in being able to offer the lad first team football every week.
Harry Kane will obviously play through the middle with Eriksen at number 10.
But there is definite room for improvement on both flanks at Tottenham and this lad could play on either side of a 4-2-3-1 or even a 4-3-3.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action.
Tottenham fans: a great potential addition?
