Odds slashed on world class striker to Manchester United: Is this the surprise signing?

Zlatan: Crazy Genius

Crazy

Just because we can’t imagine this one happening, it doesn’t mean it’s completely out of the question.

With lots of rumours about transfer business between Manchester United and PSG this summer – PSG have once more expressed an interest in Angel di Maria, who they failed to sign last summer – perhaps this lad could be thrown into any deal.

The Express reports today that Manchester United could have their eye on Zlatan Ibrahimovic of PSG after a flurry of bets on the move saw the odds on a move to United tumble. They report:

MANCHESTER UNITED are looking increasingly likely to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, according to Betfair.

The bookmakers have slashed the odds from 20/1 to 5/1 for the Sweden international to join the ranks at Old Trafford.

And the reason for this?

Reports have since linked United with Alvaro Morata, Mauro Icardi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Kevin Volland, but Betfair believe it could be Ibrahimovic following a flurry of bets this morning.

The same source does state that AC Milan remain the favourites to sign the lad in this window but the movement in the market might suggest otherwise.

The craziest part of the story is that The Express is mooting a figure of £20m for his signature.

Now, we know that he’s supremely gifted and easily big enough to hold his own in The Premier League.

Furthermore Manchester United seem to be spending as if there is no tomorrow at the moment.

But the idea of shelling out £20m for a player with no sell on value and who might only remain competitive at the top level for another year, seems ridiculous.

The player would surely also demand to play every game which could imbalance the team and put noses out of joint. He’d be much more likely to start each game in Italy.

If the fee was reduced hugely and the Swede was prepared to accept that he wouldn’t start every game then it could be on.

But it seems unlikely to us. Let’s see the lad in action. Manchester United fans: a wise move?

Di maria is more better than pedro, there is no need of letting him go to PSG,the deal should better be closed.di maria is trying his best so we have to give him another chance for a stay at OT for him to prove that he worth what he cost united
