Manchester United: Odds slashed on highly disappointing transfer

Manchester United have arguably done some of their best business in years this summer.

With the signings of Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger they have addressed long held concerns about the midfield. And the addition of Memphis to the forward line should bring some much needed zip to Manchester United’s play.

Overall we think that player acquisition is a strong suit for Louis van Gaal. But the situation that keeps gnawing away at many Manchester United fans is the looming possibility that Angel di Maria will leave the club.

SkyBet now have PSG as odds on favourites to sign Angel di Maria, at 4/9, while some sections of the French media are suggesting that a deal is close to being done. Le Parisien states:

Although they are not yet finalized, these negotiations are progressing well and some optimism prevails PSG for a speedy conclusion of this dossier. The transfer price should be around € 60 million.

With Manchester United still needing to strengthen the strike force and central defence, the idea of letting Di Maria leave is all wrong to us.

Di Maria had a poor first season in England, by his standards, but still got a dozen assists.

At his best he offers the pace and penetration that Manchester United have lacked for years.

Depay will offset this to some degree but surely the perfect front three for Manchester United next season would be an in-form Di Maria, Rooney and Depay – pace, power and guile.

Louis van Gaal has got it right every time so far in terms of departures but we can’t help but think that he is making mistake with this one.

Manchester United fans: should the club hold on to Angel di Maria next season?

Fans opinion..pls lvg dare not to sell dimaria..cox dre is no1 as gud as he is @man utd midfield rendering assitance to the centre forward..let him pair with depay to help the main forward man..as their is more league to play…nd also think of injury holdin ur favourite players down..let bests be part of ur sub.

angel di maria is a proven talent,it will be huge mistake if LVG gets rid of him,if he is to receive a fair crack of the wip ,he should be given another chance and iam dead sure he will prove his worth.
