Transfers: The Biggest Mistake Manchester United could make

Di Maria: Unhappy

Class

Manchester United have offloaded a lot of players so far this summer and we agree with Louis van Gaal on every departure so far. Radamel Falcao, Nani, RvP, Ben Amos, Tom Cleverley and Angelo Henriquez didn’t make the grade and United should clear the decks for some quality arrivals.

But there has been a lot of bluster again this week about the future of Angel di Maria, with The Express reporting that a deal had already been agreed for the player to join PSG.

While he clearly wasn’t at his best in his first season at the club, Manchester United would be making a massive mistake if they were to let him go after just one campaign.

We all know how difficult it can be to tempt exotic stars to the rather drizzly Manchester and, when they do manage to sign worldies, they should hold on to them for dear life.

Even in what was deemed a poor season by his standards Di Maria made 12 assists – far more than anyone else in the squad. And he didn’t even play for half of the season.

He does give the ball away a lot but he also makes things happen. He’s ridiculously fast off the mark – another quality lacking in the Manchester United set up right now. And he scores goals.

Manchester United should do their best to get Di Maria settled as quickly as possible because a forward line including him, Depay, Rooney and possibly one other A-lister, could take Europe by storm.

Manchester United fans: Hold on to Di Maria?

One of the biggest mistakes United ever made was buying Di Maria in the first place. Real Madrid do not sell good players. He had been average the year before and was only bought because Woodward had shouted his mouth off about how much money United had and wanted to prove it. I don’t even think van Gaal was that impressed with the clown and would not lose any sleep if he was sold, which would be the best thing all round.

di maria should stay! I agree is going to be a mistake if we allowed him leave after just one season.
