This is good news for Manchester United. Although the two clubs concerned are still said to be some way apart in terms of valuation, we think that United fans will simply be happy that a move is in the offing.
Because, of all the players that United can bring into the club this summer, we feel that Morgan Schniederlin would be the most important.
Manchester United were alarmingly easy to play through without Michael Carrick last season and the 25 year old French international has many of the same qualities – he’s highly composed, reads the game brilliantly and has lovely technique. He really does make the defensive midfield role into an art form.
The Telegraph reckons that, amidst all the rumour, a bid has gone in for the lad:
Southampton have turned down a £20 million bid from Manchester United for France midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
Exactly what United needs
The bid was supposedly made last week and falls short of the reported £25m that Southampton want for the player. The report also suggests that, while Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on the player, they have no desire to get into a bidding war with United.
While Bastian Schweinsteiger could offer short term excellence, we just feel that Schneiderlin would be a far better investment as he could give continuity to the midfield for the next 6 or seven years at the very top level.

Comment:morgan is the perfect man for man utd mid field,whom every body that watch man utd vs southampton last term will know that morgan if not almost dominated the midfield with the present of carrick and ander.so woodward should be snappy enough to get this power house in old trafford to lighting up his dream.
