We don’t know why Manchester United keep banging their heads against brick walls with players who simply don’t want to join the club.
If reports are to be believed Manchester United have been tracking Bayern Munchen star Thomas Muller for a long time and he is clearly admired by United head coach Louis van Gaal.
But, in response to the latest round of speculation about his future – The Mirror, among others, has reported that the player has intimidated that another bid has gone in for his services – the German international has again declared himself happy at his current club.
The Daily Mail quotes him as saying:
‘When a transfer request comes in, you automatically deal with it,’ he said. ‘A request from another big club is an honour and a telling reward that one’s performances are good.
‘But I feel good at Bayern and my deal runs until 2019. It’s better to ignore speculation.’
Muller has had a sensational career and is still only 25. He came from nowhere to finish as the top scorer in the 2010 World Cup and last year he scored 15 international goals in the calendar year as his nation went on to blitz everyone and win the greatest prize in football.
We think that, unless Bayern drop off the pace in terms of the European elite, or the player falls out with the top brass, then he will be at the club for a long time to come. He’s settled with a team which is challenging at the top end of European competition every season.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Manchester United fans: should the club be concentrating on other targets?
