Manchester City have a ridiculously tasty looking transfer wish list this summer and, near the very top of that list, appears to be Raheem Sterling.
Reports suggest that two bids have already gone in from Manchester City for the Anfield ace, and ex-manager of the Merseyside giant, Roy Evans, has verbalised how many of us feel about the situation. He is quoted as saying:
‘I don’t think they (Liverpool) would be spending the amount of money they have if they didn’t think was already a done deal to somewhere,’
While the money in football these days might allow such sums to be spent regardless of sales, we do tend to agree with this one. Brendan Rodgers’ feverish spending seems akin to last season when the club used much of the Luis Suarez money before he had even departed.
Furthermore, the importance of squad harmony can not be overstated and having a want away player in the ranks is not going to bring the club any closer to achieving its goals.
While we think that there could be a few more surprises in this story yet, it does seem clear that the player has made his last appearance for his current club.
If they do a deal, Manchester City will be getting one of the most explosive players in the league and one of the best youngsters in Europe. At his best, Sterling can carve open defences and leave defenders for dead.
We do still feel that he needs better control of his genius in order to consistently produce at the top level. We also believe that he’s not a good enough striker of the ball to be playing through the middle at this stage of his career.
But Manchester City love to employ wide men and Sterling could prove to be devastation addition.
Let’s see him in action.

Bollox, Liverpool never spent all the Suarez money last season except for Balotelli.
