Various sources in the British media have suggested today that Arsenal have been offered the brilliant French striker, Alexandre Lacazette, for the sum of €29.6m.

The Telegraph has reported on it and The Daily Star says:

..it is now claimed the club want to cash in on the 24-year-old.

Reports suggest they’ve offered Lacazette to Arsenal for £21m (€29.6m).

Lacazette has had a remarkable season

Lacazette has had a remarkable season

We have spoken for a long time about Arsenal’s need for a world class striker. Although our hope was that they would sign a proven marksman in his prime – someone in the mould of Higuain or Benzema – Lacazette has very compelling stats.

At 24 he is some way off his prime but he is showing signs of stepping into the boots of Benzema at international level. Also spending his formative years with Lyon, he broke the club goal scoring record this season and also finished as the top scorer in the French top flight.

He’s quick, strong and could probably score a decent amount of goals blindfolded. This is an ice cool finisher who is surely destined for an elite club.

If Arsenal can get him he may have the perfect profile for the club. He won’t expect immediate starts but he will keep the likes of Giroud and Welbeck on their toes. And there is no limit to the potential of the lad.

Let’s see him in action. Arsenal fans: a top signing or does the club need to prioritise the acquisition of a tried and tested goalscorer?
