Arsenal need to sign a midfielder this summer and it’s difficult to argue with the idea of bringing the superb Arturo Vidal to the club.
Most midfielders are good at attacking or shielding the defence. This lad does both equally well. He’s one of the hardest workers in football and looks just as spritely after 80 minutes as he does after 8.
He’s been a driving force in Juventus’ recent success, helping them to 4 league titles in a row.
He has also been a hero for Chile, playing 65 times and scoring 12 goals. Furthermore, he’s scored at a rate of 1 in 4 for his club and the fact that he knows where the net is makes him an even more valuable property.
The Telegraph passes on the speculation that Arsenal are to make a bid for the superb Chilean:
Gunners prepare £21.3m bid for Arturo Vidal
Wenger himself admitted that he is an admirer of the player last month when he told reporters:
If you want me to say I like Arturo Vidal, yes I like Arturo Vidal.
And he has previously stated that:
“Vidal is one of the best midfielders in the world.
“He has everything. Incredible stamina, perfect timing. He’s a marathon athlete who plays football.”
We think that Arsenal would struggle to do better business this summer for a 28 year old who has proven, over the last season, that he has well and truly recovered from the knee injury which he sustained a couple of seasons back.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Arsenal fans: time for AW to get his prudent hands out of his prudent little pockets and make a move in the market?
